To launch the Entrance Examination and fix the number of places into the first year of The College of
Technology (COLTECH) of The University of Bamenda and setting the number of places offered for the
2017/2018 academic year.

Mindful of Decree n° 2012/4133 of 1 October 2012 to organize the Ministry of Higher Education;
Mindful of Decree n° 2005/342 of 10 September 2005 to modify and complete certain dispositions ofDecree
11° 93/027 of 19 January 1993 to define common dispositions applicable to Universities;
Mindful of Decree n° 93/ 26 of 19 January 1993 to create Universities;
Mindful of Decree 11° 2010/371 of 14 December 2010 to create The University of Bamenda;
Mindful of Decree n" 201 1/045 0108 March 201 1 to organize The University ofBamenda;
Mindful of Decree n° 2015/541 of 27 November 2015 appointing the Vice Chancellor of The University of
Bamenda;
Mindful of Decree 11" 93/032 of 19 January 1993 to lay down financial regulations governing Universities;
Mindful of Decree no 99/003 of 19 January 1999 to modify some provisions of Decree n° 79/186 of 17 May
1979 to fix University fees;
Mindful of Decree n0 2005/383 of 17 October 2005 laying down financial regulations governing Universities;
Mindful of the correspondence 11° 12/04109L/MINESUP/CAB/CTZ/eh of 10 September 2012 to instruct,
among other things, the effective start ofthe College ofTechnology of The University of Bamenda,
Mindful of Decree n° 2012/366 of 06 August 2012 appointing persons in State Universities;
Mindful of Decree nO 2013/0891/PM of 12”1 March 2013 appointing persons in the Ministry oingher
Education
Mindful of Decree no 2015/543 ofthe 27 November 2015 to appoint the Director ofthe College of
Technology;
Mindful of Order n°l 7/00056/MlNESUP/DAUQ/SDEAC/SE of 25 January 2017 fixing the calendar of
Competitive Entrance Examinations into Schools of State Universities for the 2017/2018 academic
year;
On the proposal ofthe Vice Chancellor of The University ofBamenda

HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1- A competitive entrance examination of students into the first year of the College of
Technology of The University of Barnenda has been launched for the 2017/18 academic year in the
Agribusiness Technology, Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, Animal Production
Technology, Crop Production Technology, Food Science and Technology, Electric Power
Engineering, Electronics, Computer Networks and Systems Maintenance and Software
Engineering programmes.

Article 2—(1) The examination shall be organized in one sitting for Cameroonians of both sexes as well
as to foreigners resident in Cameroon.
(2) Admission is open to qualified candidates of not more than twenty eight (28) years old on
151 January 2018;

Article 3- The qualifications and the number of places available in first year programmes of the
College of Technology (COLTECI—l) of The University of Bamenda for the Academic year
2017/2018 are as follows:

Article 4— The application file shall comprise the following documents:
0 A registration form to be collected from the College of Technology of The University of
Bamenda and Delegations of Secondary Education
o A certified true copy ofbirth certificate dated not more than six (6) months;
0 Certified true copies of Transcripts of GCE O/L or Probatoire and GCE A/L or Baccalaureat.
I A certified true copy of GCE A/L or Baccalaure'at or equivalent diploma dated not more than six
(6) months;
0 A certified true copy of GCE 0/1. or Probatoire or equivalent diploma dated not more than six
(6) months;
0 A receipt upon payment of twenty thousand (20,000) FCFA as non—refundable registration fees
delivered by NFC BANK S.A. following the bank code 10025, branch code 00030, account
number 0301640104384253 or by MTN or Orange Money. No other form 01‘ payment is
accepted;
0 One self—addressed large envelope bearing a 500 francs CFA stamp;
- Four passport-size photographs;

Article 5— (1) Holders of foreign diplomas shall submit either the equivalence or the receipt showing
that they applied for the equivalence of their diplomas or certificates. The order granting equivalence
and the receipt are issued by the Minister of Higher Education.
(2) The final admission of these candidates shall be confirmed only on presentation within
the date limit set by the competent authorities ofthe text granting them equivalence.

Article 6- Complete files should be submitted to the directorate of the College of Technology, The
University ofBamenda and in all delegations of Secondary Education latest 81h September, 2017.

Article 7 — The examination shall comprise:
a) Study of files (30% ofthe total assessment);
b) Two written papers (70% ofthe total assessment).

Article 8 -- (1) l‘he distribution of papers is indicated as follows:

Mathematics and Economics;
B) Candidates seeking admission into the Agricultural and Environmental Engineering
Programme (3 subjects): Mathematics and Chemistry with Physics or with Biology;
C) Candidates seeking admission into the Animal Production Technology, Crop Production
Technology and Food Science and Technology Programmes (3 subjects): Mathematics
and Biology with Chemistry or with Physics;

1)) Candidates seeking admission into the Electric Power Engineering or Electronics
Programme (3 subjects): Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
E) Candidates seeking admission into the Computer Networks and Systems Maintenance or
Software Engineering Programme (3 subjects): Mathematics and Computer Science with
Physics or with Chemistry

(2) The syllabuses of the competitive entrance examination are the same as in the GCE A/L or
Baccalaureate programmes.

Article 9— (1l) The written papers will take place on Saturday 16‘'1 September, 2017 in the following
four (4) Examination Centres: The University of Bamenda - Mile 3 Nkwen Campus, Buea, Douala
and Yaounde.
(2) A press release published by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bamenda shall ultimately
indicate the modalities ofthe organization ofthe written examination.
(3) Candidates are requested to come to the examination centres at least 30 minutes before the start of
each examination paper. They most come along with their National Identity Card and acceptance slip.
