To launch the Competitive Entrance Examin for admiss on into the first year of The College of Technology (COLTECH) of The University of Bamenda an setting the number of places offered for the 2020/2021 academic year,

Mindful of Decree no 2011/408 of 09th December 2011 to organize the Government; of Decree no 2011/410 of 09th December 2011 to appoint members of Government; of Decree no 2012/433 of I October 2012 to organize the Ministry of Higher Education; of Decree no 2005/342 of 10 September 2005 to modify and complete certain dispositions of Decree no 93/027 of 19 January 1993 to define common dispositions applicable to Universities; of Decree no 93/026 of 19 January 1993 to create Universities; of Decree no 2010/371 of 14 December 2010 to create The University of Bamenda; of Decree no 201 1/045 of 08 March 2011 to organize The University of Bamenda; of Decree no 2015/541 of 27 November 2015 appointing the Vice Chancellor of The University of Bamenda; of Decree no 93/032 of 19 January 1993 to lay down financial regulations governing Universities; of Decree no 99/003 of 19 January 1999 to modify some provisions of Decree no 79/186 of 17 May 1979 to fix University fees; of Decree no 2005/383 of 17 October 2005 laying down financial regulations governing Universities; of the correspondence no 12/04109L/MINESUP/CAB/CT2/eb of 10 September 2012 to instruct, among other things, the effective start of the College of Technology of The University of
Bamenda, of Decree no 2012/366 of 06 August 2012 appointing persons in State Universities; of Decree no 2013/0891/PM of 1 2th March 2013 appointing persons in the Ministry of Higher
Education of Decree no 2018/074 of the 29 January 2018 to appoint the Director of the College of Technology; of Order no 20-00407/MlNESUP/SG/DAUQ/SDEAC/SE of 26th May 2020 to organize the calendar of competitive Entrance Examinations into Faculties, Schools and institutions of Cameroon State Universities for the 2020/2021 academic year;
THE MINISTER OF STATE, MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION,
Mindful of the Constitution;
Mindful of Law no 2001/005 of 16th April 2001 on the orientation of Higher Education;

On the proposal of the Vice Chancellor of The University of Bamenda

DECIDES:
Article 1- A competitive entrance examination for the admission of students into the first year of the College of Technology of The University of Bamenda has been launched for the 2020/2021 academic year in the following programs: Agribusiness Technology; Agricultural and Environmental Engineering; Animal Production Technology; Crop Production Technology; Nutrition, Food and Bioresource Technology; Forestry and Wildlife Technology; Electric Power Engineering; Electronics; Computer Networks and Systems Maintenance; and Software Engineering.

Article 2- The examination shall be organized in one sitting for Cameroonians of both sexes as well as to foreigners resident in Cameroon.

Article 3- The qualifications and the number of places available in the first year programs of the College of Technology (COLTECH) of The University of Bamenda for the Academic year 2020/2021 are as follows:

• Probatoire and Baccalauréat C, D or F4; • For Candidates with a technical background, a pass in "Probatoire" and "Baccalauréat de Brevet de Technicien" in related fields (Home Economics, Crop Production, Animal Production etc).

7. Electric Power Engineering 25 • General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level and General Certificate of Education

• General Certificate of Education Technical Ordinary and Advanced Levels in releva'nt subjects;
"Baccalauréat" C, D, F2, F3, and MAV•, • Any other certificates recognized as equivalent by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Article 4- The application file shall comprise the following documents:


1) A registration form to be completed online at the website of the College of Technology: https://www.coltech.cm
2) A certified true copy of birth certificate dated not more than six (6) months;
3) A certified true copy of GCE AIL or Baccalauréat or equivalent diploma dated not more than six (6) months;

4) A certified true copy of GCE OIL or Probatoire or equivalent diploma dated not more than six (6) months;
5) A receipt of payment of the sum of twenty thousand (20,000) FCFA being a non-refundable registration fee to be paid online through MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money. No other form of payment is accepted; 6) One self-addressed stamped A4 size envelope; 7) Four passport-size photographs.

Article 5- (l) Holders of foreign diplomas shall submit either the equivalence or the receipt showing that they applied for the equivalence of their diplomas or certificates. The order granting equivalence and the receipt are issued by the Minister of Higher Education.
(2) The final admission of these candidates shall be confirmed only on presentation within the date limit set by the competent authorities of the text granting them equivalence.

Article 6- After submitting the online registration form, print a copy and include with a hard copy of the application file which should be submitted at your examination centre on the day of the written examination.

Article 7— The examination shall comprise:
a) Study of files (30% of the total assessment);
b) Two written papers (70% of the total assessment).

Article 8 — (l)The examination subjects/papers will be as follows:
Paper 1: 3hrs Coefficient 5
A) Candidates seeking admission into the Agribusiness Program (2 subjects): Mathematics and Economics;
B) Candidates seeking admission into the Agricultural and Environmental Engineering Program (3 subjects): Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology;
C) Candidates seeking admission into the Animal Production Technology; Crop Production Technology; Forestry and Wildlife Technology; as well as Nutrition, Food and Bioresource Technology Programs (3 subjects): Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry or Physics;
D) Candidates seeking admission into the Electric Power Engineering or Electronics Program (3 subjects): Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
E) Candidates seeking admission into the Computer Networks and Systems Maintenance or Software Engineering Program (3 subjects): Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics or Chemistry.

(2) The syllabuses of the competitive entrance examination are the same as in the GCE A/L or Baccalaureate programs.
Article 9- (l) The written papers will take place on Saturday 26th September, 2020 in the following five (5) Examination Centers: The University of Bamenda - Bambili, Bafoussam, Buea, Douala and Yaoundé.
(2) A press release published by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bamenda shall ultimately indicate the modalities of the organization of the written examination.
(3) Candidates are requested to come to the examination centers at least 30 minutes before the start of each examination paper. They must come along with their National Identity Card and acceptance slip.

Article 10- The Vice Chancellor of The University of Bamenda, the Director of the College of Technology, the Director of University Accreditations and Quality of the Ministry of Higher Education each in his/her own sphere, are responsible for the implementation of this decision which shall be registered and published in English and French wherever necessary.
