ORDER N° [MINESUP/S /D ~ [50' AC OF 2017
Concerning the launching of a competitive entrance examination into the third year of the national
advanced school of engineering of the University of Yaounde I, and to fix the number of places
available for the 2017/2018 academic year

THE MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION,
Mindful of the Constitution ;
Mindful of Law N° 005 of 16 April 2001 to set up Higher Education orientation;
Mindful of Decree N°71/DF/260 of 4th June 1971 to create the Federal Advanced School of Engineering;
Mindful of Decree N°75/24O of 3rd April 1975 to reorganize the National Advanced School of Engineering;
Mindful or Decree N093/026 of 19 January 1993 to set up Universities;
Mindful of Decree N093/036 of 29 Januan/ 1993 to set up administrative and academic organisation in the University
of Yaounde I ;
Mindful of Decree N0 2005/142 of 29 April 2005 to organize the Ministry of Higher Education ;
Mindful of Decree NO 2005/342 of 10 September 2005 to modify and to complete certain dispositions of decree No
93/027 of 19 January 1993 to set up general disposition for the universities;
Mindful of Decree N° 2009/008 of 12 January 2009 to appoint officials in the State Universities ;
Mindful of Decree n° 2011/408 of 09 December 2011 to organize the Government;
Mindful of Decree n° 2011/410 of 09 December 2011 to appoint members of Government ;
Mindful of Decree N0 2012/333 of 29 June 2012 to appoint a VicerChancellor and Rectors of certain;
Mindful of Decree Nc 2012/366 of 06 August 2012 to appoint officials in the State Universities ;
Mindful of Decree Na 2012/433 of 01 October 2012 to organize the Ministry of Higher education;
Mindful of Decree N° 2013/089l/PM of 12 March 2013 to appoint officials in Ministry of Higher education;
Mindful of order N917/00056/MINESUP/SG/DAUQ/SDEAC/SE of 25 January 2017 to organize the calendar of
competitive entrance examinations into Faculties, Schools and Institutes of Cameroon State Universities for
20172018 academic year;

HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: '

Article 1: A competitive entrance examination for the admission of fifteen (15) students into the
third year of the National Advanced School of Engineering of the University of Yaounde l for the
2017/2018 academic year has been launched to be written at the YAOUNDE centre. T he
examination shall consist 014 hours written paper in Mathematics, 4 hours written paper in Physics,
and 4 hours written paper in Computer Science, all 01' equal rating.

Article 2: The competitive entrance examination is open to:

— Candidates who are holders of a first degree in Engineering, Physics, Physics—chemistry,
Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a diploma from a University institute of rl'eehnology or
a Faculty of Science (DU'l‘, DEUGV) or any other equivalent diplomas recognized by the Minister of
Higher Education.

• Candidates awaiting results for the above certificates.
  Article 3: The syllabus for the examinations shall be those of the classes leading up to the
  qualifying certificate or diploma.

Article 4: The application files shall include the following documents:

1. An individual form duly filled by the candidate on line on the web site of entrance
examination of the school http://www.polytechnique.cm/concours.

A photocopy of the national identity card;

A certified true copy of birth certificate (less than 3 months old);

A certified true copy of certificate or an Attestation of success where applicable;

A certified true copy of the GCE—A/Level certificate

Transcripts for the last three years spent in the University or a Higher Institution which
issued the Certificate or the Attestation of success;

7. A curriculum Vitae and Studio-rum;

8, Four passport size photos 4 x 4;

9. An A4 stamped self addressed envelop (400) francs Cli‘A;

10. A medical attestation of physical fitness delivered by a state registered medical doctor;

1 1. An authorization from the employer for successful candidates who are workers.

Article 5: The examination lees of twenty five thousand francs CFA (25.000) should be paid
through EXPRESS UNION, against a receipt that must be included in the candidate’s file with the
other documents. This fee which is non-refundable is used to cover the running cost of the
competitive entrance examination. Any other means of payment is unacceptable.

Article 6: The completed application files which shall be received at the Admissions’ Ollice ofthe
National Advanced School of Engineering P.O.8390 Yaounde, or the Regional Delegation of The
Ministry of Secondary Education of their residence, latest 05th July 2017.

Article 7: Only candidates who have handed in complete application files within the indicated
period shall be called upon to sit for the examination. They are therefore requested to come along
with their National Identity Cards which must be presented to the examination authorities.

Article 8: The examination will take place from the 12th to 13"1 of July 2017 as from 8am prompt
in the Yaounde centre.

Article 9: The Rector of the University ol‘ Yaounde l, the Director ot‘thc Department of University
Accreditations and Quality, and the Director of the National Advanced School of Engineering, each
in his own sphere, are responsible for the implementation of this circular which shall be registered
and published in English and French wherever necessary.
